Smartvatten Integration

Overview

 

The native interface between Smartvatten and Alasco enables you to automatically and reliably transfer meter data directly from Smartvatten into your building in Alasco. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving time, reducing the risk of errors, and thereby improving data quality.
This article provides an overview of the requirements for using the interface, its key features, and a step-by-step guide for setup.
This ensures that your consumption data is efficiently and accurately integrated into Alasco and made available there for analysis.

This feature is only available if you have booked the additional module "ESG Data Connector". If you would like to use this feature, please contact your designated contact person or reach out to customersuccess@alasco.de.

 

Setting up the interface

Once the interface has been activated for your Alasco account, it will appear in the Integrations Marketplace. To access it, go to Settings in the Master data section. Then select the second tab, Integrations, to connect your Alasco account with your Smartvatten account.

To use the integration, you also need access credentials for the Smartvatten API. Please request the API key from your Smartvatten contact and keep it secure.

Additionally, it is required that you specify a Building ID both in the Smartvatten HUB and in Alasco, so that buildings in both systems can be matched and linked. How to set this ID in both systems is explained in the following sections.

Necessary steps in Alasco

In Alasco, select the building to which you want to add a Building ID. Then navigate to the Building Details.
Under the first tab, Overview, you will find the general information about your building.

Click the top Edit button to update the general information of the building. Enter the Building ID in the corresponding field. This ID may already exist in a property management system or other software, or it may be used there. If you haven’t assigned ID numbers to your buildings yet, we recommend numbering them sequentially using a consistent naming scheme.

It’s important that the same ID is used for each location/building in Smartvatten as well.

Necessary steps in Smartvatten

The IDs in Smartvatten can only be set by Smartvatten Support. Please contact your Smartvatten contact person and ask them to set the IDs in the Premise field called "externalId". At the end of this article, you’ll find an Excel file you can use to submit the names of your Smartvatten premises along with the corresponding IDs to Smartvatten.

It’s important that the same ID is used for each location/building in Alasco.

Once you’ve added the Building IDs both in your buildings in Alasco and in your premises in Smartvatten, you can complete the setup of the integration.
To do so, navigate to the Integrations Marketplace in Alasco and select the Smartvatten integration. Click on "Configure", and in the window that opens, log in using your Smartvatten API key.

After successful setup and activation, the integration is marked with a green checkmark.

After the integration has been successfully set up, it takes approximately 2–3 minutes (depending on the number of meters and the amount of historical data) for all meters from Smartvatten to be automatically created in the linked buildings in Alasco, and for the historical consumption data to be transferred.

 

Interface functions

The interface includes the following automations:

  • Automatic creation of meters in Alasco as soon as they are recorded in Smartvatten
  • Automatic import of historical consumption data at a monthly level
  • Monthly retrieval and automatic transfer of current consumption data

At the beginning of every month, the previous month’s consumption data is automatically loaded from Smartvatten into the corresponding meter in Alasco.

Note:

If meters are missing or have not been transferred, please check whether the correct Building ID has been entered both in Alasco and Smartvatten, and that the entered IDs are identical. If this is the case and data is still missing, please contact support@alasco.de.

 

Pausing or deleting the connection

To pause data transfer between Smartvatten and Alasco or to completely delete the link between the two services, select the integration in Settings under Integrations in the master data section.

In the Integrations Marketplace, click the Reconfigure button on the active integration to access additional options. Here, you can pause or completely delete the integration. Once deleted, no further data will be synchronised.

Note:

If you delete the integration, this will not affect any meters already created or data already synchronised. All data transferred up to that point will remain in Alasco.
