How does the overpayment warning work?

The overpayment warning in Alasco protects you from unintentionally paying out amounts that exceed the available contract volume or the security provided by retentions and guarantees. The warning appears as a banner during invoice verification or when paying out retentions.

Topic Overview

Step-by-step calculation in the warning banner

If an invoice or a retention payout leads to a potential overpayment, Alasco displays a warning banner. You can expand this banner to see a detailed, step-by-step calculation. This transparency helps you understand exactly which values triggered the warning.

Consideration of retentions and guarantees

The overpayment warning logic accurately accounts for active guarantees and previous retentions to avoid unnecessary warnings. The following scenarios will no longer trigger a warning:

  • Payouts covered by guarantees: If retention payouts are fully covered by active guarantees, the overpayment warning will not appear.
  • Security retention covers warranty retention: If a security retention covers the required warranty retention (meaning sufficient money is still held back), the warning is suppressed.

Additionally, the logic now correctly considers previously retained warranty retentions as well as previous retention payouts in its calculation.
