Create a new cost element structure
In Alasco, the project budgets are created via cost elements. By default, Alasco offers you the possibility to manage your budgets according to the cost element structure from german DIN276.
The cost element structure is created in the account's master data and applies to all projects that use this structure.
If you manage several projects in your account that are fundamentally different from one another and therefore require several different structures, you can also create a new cost element structure in the master data at any time.
To do this, click on the "+ Add structure" button at the top right of the screen. Enter the name and an optional description in the window that opens. Click on "Save" to create the new cost element structure.
If you then create a project in your account, you can select the cost element structure to be used.
Edit cost element structure
You can edit existing cost element structures in the master data. You can add new cost elements, rename or delete existing cost elements. To do this, first select the cost element structure.
Click on the "Edit" button to change the name and the optional description of the cost element structure.
Move the mouse pointer over a cost element to display the editing options.
- Click on the "pencil" icon to rename a cost element, change its cost category or add a description
- Click on the "+" icon to create a subordinate cost element on the level below
- Click on the "bin" icon to delete an existing cost element
- Click on the "+ Add cost element" button to create a new cost element on the highest level
- Use the "Reset" button to delete all your changes and return to the original status
After editing, confirm your changes with the "Save" button.
Note:
Please note that it is not possible to make changes to cost elements that are already used in a project. You can add a new cost element at any time but you can only delete or rename a cost element if no project uses the cost element and the budgets are not allocated to contract units. Editing is also not possible if the cost element was used in a previous budget version. If you still want to make changes to the name or description, please contact your Customer Enablement Manager during onboarding or afterwards via e-mail to support@alasco.de.
Assign budgets
When you open Alasco, you will find yourself in the "multi-project view" dashboard. To enter the budget for a project, you must first select the project from the drop-down menu on the upper left-hand side of the screen.
In the respective project, you can then assign individual budgets under the menu item "Costs" under "Budget". You can find out more about this in the article regarding budget distribution.
For each project, the level of detail of the cost elements can be individually adjusted based on the structure previously defined in the master data.
Individual cost elements can be selected and deselected. To do this, click on the "gear wheel" icon to the right of each cost element.
