Opening the decimal places panel
You can customize the display of decimal places in project calculation versions without altering the underlying precision.
- Open a project opportunity and navigate to the Project calculation.
- Click on the settings icon next to the calculation tabs to open the Decimal places panel.
Configuring display options
- Turn on the display rounding option in the panel.
- Pick 0, 1, or 2 decimal places for the following values: currency (€), area (m²), unit prices (€/m²), percentages (%), and numbers & factors.
- The decimal settings apply immediately upon each change and do not open the calculation save toolbar.
Impact on KPIs, cash flow, and export
You can optionally apply the chosen decimal formatting rules to other areas.
- Apply the formatting rules to the KPI panel and the Cash flow as needed.
- When using the Excel export, the updated number formatting is applied, while the underlying cell values maintain their full precision.
Precision of calculated values
Even though the display is rounded, Alasco always uses the exact underlying values for calculations.
- Exact values: Hover over cells displaying an '≈' marker (which indicates a rounded value) to reveal the exact underlying value.
- Totals: Totals are calculated using exact values under the hood, meaning they can differ from the visible sum of the rounded rows.
