Custom fields

  • Types of Custom Fields

In Alasco, custom fields are available to help you clearly organize order data. These fields allow you to comprehensively map your valid data structure within orders. A consistent project data structure not only ensures comparability and transparency but also aids in the quick and reliable assessment of order status. Use this feature to supplement or structure your order data with additional information, in line with your internal standards.

Your valid data structure is also taken into account when exporting order overviews. This ensures consistency, even if you need to transfer data from Alasco to another software.

Users with admin status can create a template for a custom field in the master data under the "Custom Fields" menu. To do this, click the "+ Add Custom Field" button at the top right of the screen. In the menu that appears, you can name the field, select a field type, define a column name for export, and optionally write a description of the field for project participants.

The following field types are available to you:

  • Number
  • Text
  • Date
  • Amount
  • Select
  • Multi-Select
  • Checkbox

To populate a custom field with content, navigate to an order within a project. In edit mode, you will now see a new section called "Custom Fields" under the "Overview" tab. The newly created fields will be displayed here. You can click on the pencil icon labeled "Edit" and fill in the fields with specific content for that order. To finalize your changes, click the "Save" button.

In the "Orders" tab within the order overview, you can use the "Manage Columns" button to add or remove custom fields and adjust their position within the table.

In the default settings, you can create up to twenty fields per type, ensuring a consistent data structure across projects. If you need more custom fields, please contact our Customer Enablement Team at support@alasco.de.

Tip:

This feature also simplifies data transfer between Alasco and other software solutions. If you assign an alternative name to a custom field in the master data, such as one matching the data structure of another software, this name will be used during export. This means that when uploading documents into the respective software, like SAP or J.D. Edwards, you won’t need to manually enter the data.

Not sure if or how you can effectively use custom fields in your projects? Reach out to our Customer Enablement Team at support@alasco.de, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
